Narrandera Lions Club Christmas Carols in the Park 2022 was held in near perfect conditions on Sunday night with revellers turning out in force at Marie Bashir Park to enjoy an evening of song and dance and spread the festive spirit.

Narrandera schools were very much to the fore providing song and dance routines and were joined by adult choirs and soloists.

Narrandera East Infants, St Joseph’s Narrandera and Narrandera Public schools gave performances, as well as Leeton SDA Choir, With One Voice and Riverina Men’s choir groups, the Uniting Church community choir and individual soloists Jamie Gawne, Joan Graham and Texas Rose (Lou Hoare).

The Christmas Message was delivered by Rev Father Sean Byrne. In between the community joined in singing Christmas songs.

Master of Ceremonies was Narrandera Lions Club president Sam Wright and accompanist well known musician Mrs Mary Sutcliffe. The musical director was talented Mrs Lizzie Walsh, who led the Narrandera Community Orchestra and One Voice Choir.

Sound was provided by longtime stalwarts of the annual Carols in the Park event Ben, Nathan and their father Neville Kschenka, who also welcomed patrons as Narrandera Mayor.

Despite threatening skies the weather held in time to finish the carols without a hitch.
