Mixed results from Talgai Goldfield

Recent stories

Gold drilling efforts earlier in the year at the Talgai Goldfield have produced some promising signs of future potential, but not all that was hoped for.

The inaugural drilling campaign was undertaken by Canadian company Queensland Gold Hills Corporation at the Big Hill property in the historic Talgai Goldfield.

The eleven hole (1,457 metres) reverse circulation drilling program targeted areas below historic underground workings.

Assay results returned from ALS-Global Brisbane showed the drilling did not encounter the best of what historical production records had indicated.

Queensland Gold Hills Director Blair Way said there were positive signs even though the first drill program at Big Hill did not intercept the grades hoped for.

“We were successful in hitting the correct structures and encountered mineralisation below the historic workings, as expected,” Mr Way said.

“The information provided will be extremely valuable…

“We look forward to announcing upcoming plans and discussing our evolving strategies as we look to demonstrate the extraordinary potential we see in the Talgai Goldfields.”
