Bouncing into life across 45 acres of lush grass, the 42nd SE Field Days at Lucindale will boast at least 450 exhibitors this year, on March 18 and 19.

Under current SA Health department restrictions, it is a double vaccinated event.

Anyone entering the site must show their certificate proving they are double vaccinated – including exhibitors, organisers, volunteers and patrons.

Masks are required inside the pavilions and tents, but not while in the fresh open air.

Setting a happy atmosphere to welcome the crowd after a two-year hiatus will be the SA Police Dixieland Band, SE Axeman display, and the “Addicted to Mud” team.

The Burrungle Laser Tag will be back, and so will Old MacDonald Farm with its baby animals to hand feed.

In the same area as the baby animals will be the Balharry Memorial Kindergarten site with children’s activities.

For art lovers and tinkerers, the SE Field Days Sculpture Competition is on again with prizes for both adults and children who create the best 3-dimensional sculpture.

Shearers and wool handlers will be on show as well, demonstrating the fitness,  fun and money found in wool harvesting.

The skill of handlers and their dogs will feature as part of the 2022 SA Yard Dog Championships.

Attracting many from around the region, and interstate, yard dog trials are in their 40th year at Lucindale.

Another main attraction near the yard dogs is the volunteers associated with the Millicent Lions Club and their traditional BBQ.

An array of food vans catering for most dietary needs will also be making their debut at the field days – all eager to return to Lucindale after having such a great time at the JJJ One Night Stand concert.

Three massive general interest pavilions will showcase everything from soaps, craft and clothing to wine and food.

Other exhibits in the big pavilions will also feature the latest in communication, education, government services and state of the art technology.

The Lifestyle Pavilion near the yard dogs will even include our own team from The News.

Abiding by SA Health regulations, pavilion exhibits will be “socially distanced” from each other.

South East Field Days secretary Lyn Crosby said the committee had been working incredibly hard to get back on track after two cancellations as a result of COVID 19.

Mrs Crosby paid tribute to everyone involved and thanked the many people who had answered a call via The News to help as volunteers.

“It has been a long time since a lot of clubs have been able to do any fundraising, and we are grateful for their help,” Mrs Crosby said.

“We hope everyone comes along and has a good time.”
