Calling for expressions of interest by Colliers, the roadhouse first sold fuel in the 1960s from a 44-gallon drum until Shell developed the present site including the roadhouse.

According to Colliers, the long-established business has achieved significant success providing fuel, takeaway food and drinks and restaurant food sales, benefiting from the high traffic coming from Queensland and between Adelaide and Darwin.

Colliers is pitching prospective infrastructure projects which are anticipated to boost regional economic activity including the $30 billion Suncable project, the $800 million Mount Isa pipeline and an estimated $6 billion in mining projects.
