Three men charged after violent Guilderton home burglary

Three men have been charged by detectives after a violent home burglary in Guilderton on Sunday, February 13.

WA Police said officers from Taskforce Woodloes have been investigating a number of violent home burglary incidents that occurred across the Armadale, Midland, Cannington and Wheatbelt districts, between December 2021 and February 2022.

As a result of investigations to date, three men have been charged in relation to an incident in Guilderton on Sunday, February 13.

Police will allege that about 1.45am, a number of men armed with axes forced entry into a property on Dewar St and assaulted two men, who were sleeping inside at the time.

Both men (aged 49 and 60) received extensive injuries and were flown to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.

A 24-year-old Joondalup man, a 19-year-old Pinjarra man and a 47-year-old Kelmscott man have each been charged with: one case aggravated home burglary and commit, one case of being armed in a way that may cause fear, one case of assault occasioning bodily harm and two cases of committing an act intended to cause grievous bodily harm or prevent arrest in the course of an aggravated home burglary.

The 47-year-old man is next due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on Friday, February 25.

Both the 24-year-old man and 19-year-old man are next due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on Friday, March 4.
