South Burnett Regional Council, Media Release, 21 February 2022

The South Burnett Regional Council is urging landowners to take advantage of the range of equipment available to assist in their weed control efforts.

Councillor Scott Henschen said “With the exceptional season we have experienced across the South Burnett Region, weeds are growing and potentially spreading faster than ever. Council has a wide range of equipment available to support landowners in their weed control programs. From quik spray trailers and splatter guns to tree spears, Council can help you access the equipment you require to help you implement effective weed control measures on your property.”

“We also provide advice on how to use and treat the weeds on your property using the equipment loaned from Council. Council Officers are available to provide the latest advice and recommendations to help meet your obligations for the management of weeds on your property” Councillor Henschen said.

Providing weed control equipment to landowners forms part of the South Burnett Regional Council commitment in building a stronger Weed Biosecurity System that protects our agricultural industries, environment and communities.

Please contact the South Burnett Regional Council on 4189 9100 to book and discuss the range of loan equipment available including advice on how best to control different types of weed species.
