It was great fun
To play in the sun
But the scores showed I had not won

Last fortnight we had sunshine in the morning but ended up being washed out in the afternoon.

Last Sunday was again sunny in the morning with a light cloud appearing over Tarrengower. Was it going to rain again?

This week the weatherperson looked after us superbly with a beautiful afternoon for petanque. There was a good turnout of players for the afternoon, we are now used to the extra regulations put on us by the pandemic like wearing masks, only one person per team can throw the coche and not being able to pick up boules not yours.

After three games we had a number of players who had been involved in three winning teams. The player with the best score for the day was Sandra Hunter with 19 points followed by Barry Droney and Matt Loake both with 17 points.

With relaxation of COVID restrictions we are hopeful we can continue part of our inter-club games. We hope that round two of the round robin with Mt Macedon Club can be held on Saturday 30 October at Gisborne. Also on Friday 5 November, it is hoped we can have the Spring Challenge with Castlemaine U3A to be played in Maldon.

Our next Club games on the St Brigid’s pistes will be on Sunday 31 October starting at 2pm.
