High prices at AMMO sale

The Australian Mohair Marketing Organisation’s (AMMO) auction at Narrandera last Friday achieved exceptionally high prices against a slightly downward trend in South Africa.

There was a 100 per cent clearance and another Australian record average price of $34.65 /kg which was $4.60 higher than the previous best auction average.

Top prices were: Fine Fine Kid $59.60, Fine Kid $58.300, Kid $49.10, Fine Fine Young Adult $48.20, Fine Young Goat $49.40, Fine Fine Adult $39.60, Fine Hair $38.60, Hair $29.90.

Auctioneer was Chris Johnson from Griffith and the AMMO Chairman Peter Simpson of Wagga also attended.

Lots were ready for inspection on the day and David Williams from the Australasian Mohair Traders as well as Phil Roberts from Australian Specialty Fibres were bidding via phone.

Ross Wheatley attended the day and was bidding on behalf of Stucken and Sudwolle located in South Africa.
