Socialism or democracy, you decide

Recent stories

Australians let us rejoice for we are one and free – unless you are not a recipient of the COVID-19 shot?

We didn’t learn much about communism or socialism in school, some may suggest that the ruling class never teach the subjects on how to overthrow the status quo.

The mere mention of socialism online often invites a retort, “that’s just a word people use, you don’t know the meaning.”

Socialism is a theory or a system of social organisation that advocates the ownership and control of capital, land and water, usually through a centralised government.

In Marxist theory, the stage following capitalism during the transition of a society to communism is characterised by imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.

A collectivist is a group given priority over each individual; you as the individual cease to matter.

Does a collective principle include quashing the medical sovereignty and natural immunity of a person’s own beautiful creation that is the human body, for the group?

Would the imperfect implementation of such socialist leaning policies include the disproportionate treatment of western Sydney residents using helicopters, street patrols, home invasions and blitzes on shopping centres vs eastern Sydneysiders laying on the beach with only a couple of officers strolling around? Or locking up rural or regional areas eight hours away from the ‘outbreak’?

Where do passports and border permits all fit in a socialist society?

Have we seen any centralisation of our wealth, assets, governance?

There are many questions that remain unanswered like, why is junk food essential during a health crisis?

It’s not all depressing as the choice is YOURS. You, as individuals, have the power of choice if you remain ‘in the moment’. Depression is worrying about your past (the stuff that has happened), anxiety is worrying about the future (the stuff that could happen), your power is in the moment.

Choice is a beautiful thing; some might suggest a feature of democracy.

Not all choices are easy, like the fight for democracy, but they are YOURS.
