Hayley Pattison, along with husband, Matt, and children, Troy, Levi and Zali, breed Poll Herefords and Angus Hereford cross on the family’s 1,700Ha property ‘Minmi’, at Burraboi, NSW.

The Pattisons market their beef directly through the Pattison Pastoral brand, tapping into consumer demand for sustainably raised beef with provenance. Hayley is excited by the opportunities the new micro abattoir will bring.

“It will do wonders for my brand to have local processing.

“I think our customers like that the money is going to an Australian company, and the money stays local and provides employment.

“With my paddock to plate business, the welfare of the animals is so important.

“Being closer means less stress on the livestock.

“We will also have better access to offcuts, cheek and offal, so we can use more of the animal.”

While the Pattison products are available through Barham stockists, a recent business partnership has provided an expansion into the Deniliquin market, acquiring the Binbella Butchery.

“We will have beef, lamb and pork, all sourced locally.

“We want everything to have provenance.

“It has been a very positive response from the Deniliquin community.”
