Following recent victories at his home track, Neil Godbolt is poised for further training success in the Club North Haven Camden Haven Cup at Port Macquarie on Saturday.

The prominent north coast stable completed a double a fortnight ago when Lord Jaysea and Jazzles posted wins with the pair set to clash in the club’s feature event on the program.

Georgina McDonnell came from the second half of the field aboard Lord Jaysea at his most recent outing before storming down the outside for a dominant victory over Delayed Response and Miss Scalini with the promising apprentice continuing her association with the gelding.

Jazzles burst through the centre of the field for a resounding win over Grated Coconut on the same program and it is significant that Matt McGuren has been engaged to repeat the dose on the flashy chestnut mare.

Both gallopers have been allotted increased weight imposts with some alleviation being provided to Lord Jaysea by the apprentice allowance to McDonnell with the son of Playing God looking hard to beat with a class drop from the recent Benchmark 66 Handicap victory to the conditions of Saturday’s cup race.

The race could develop into a three-pronged attack for the stable as Just Sizzling could gain a start from the emergency draw with all three runners part owned by Neil and Maxine Godbolt.

Innervoice indicated to the Jenny Graham stable that a win was approaching following a narrow second behind Northern Wildrose at the circuit last start and could provide the testing material in the feature while Mosh Vain and Secrets No More have bright prospects.

Nevada Smoke is poised for a successful spell resumption in the opening event after posting a solid barrier trial placing at Taree in preparation for the event.

Jim Louizos puts the polish on the lightly raced mare and the break of four months together with the encouraging trial effort last week will provide a great deal of confidence for supporters of the daughter of Zebedee.

Strong nominations have ensured keen betting activity throughout the program with Final Kawana set to be rewarded for consistency in the closing race on the card.

The Brett Bellamy trained gelding has posted recent placings at Casino and Grafton with the appointment of Ray Spokes providing additional confidence following the recent sparkling form of the popular hoop.

Following the NSW Government introducing stay at home orders for all NSW, effective 5pm 14 August 2021, attendance at all NSW race meetings, barrier trials, trackwork and licensed premises is restricted to Essential Personnel only until further notice.

Owners, members and the general public are not permitted to attend NSW race meetings, barrier trials, trackwork and licensed premises until further notice.

All staff and essential personnel are required to always wear the prescribed face masks while on the premises and social distancing rules will be strictly enforced with everyone urged to continue safe hand washing practices and general responsible conduct.

If you live or have visited a designated lock down area or have cold or flu like symptoms, such as a cough, fever, sore throat, shortness of breath or runny nose, even if these are mild, you will be restricted from entering the track, and you should get tested for COVID-19 as soon as possible.

Club North Haven continues to support for the Camden Haven Cup and are again ready to provide year-round activities and entertainment for residents of the Camden Haven and visitors to the Mid-North Coast of NSW when not impeded by Covid restrictions.

Other races on the program are named in honour of John Oxley Motors and Carlton Dry in recognition of their continued support provided over a long period of time together with

GemLife Rainbow Beach who are set to provide a major sponsor deal for their premier fillies and mares event, $60,000 Queen of the North Handicap in January.

GemLife has a number of lifestyle resorts for the over 50’s in Queensland, NSW and Victoria with their latest facility under construction at Lake Cathie.

The circuit is currently rated in the soft range with the prospect of fine weather conditions set to ensure the best possible surface will be presented for the race meeting.

Punters will be able to follow all the action of the local program together with full coverage of supporting programs from around Australia through the screens of Sky Racing with comprehensive trackside wagering facilities available.

Racing continues at Port a solid seven event program scheduled for Monday 6 September with a reminder that all roads lead to the circuit on Friday 8 October for showcase racing featuring the $200,000 Port Macquarie Cup and the $80,000 Birdon Group Sprint.
