Farmor Manufacturing has laid to rest an iconic grader design ushering in new beginnings for the humble grader.
In clearing sales across the country the old version of the Farmor grader always has plenty of interest. I’ve been outbid a few times on the pioneering grader that smoothed many tracks and fence lines, as well as dragging soil in the paddock.
The new design aims to give farmers a wide range of flexibility, combined with a strong, functional design incorporating a high 1m lift height and two-way cross leveller.
A standard width of 8-foot enables track grading and easy transport. Through the utilisation of a bolt-on section of each side of the grader, the working width can be easily adjusted to suit wider applications. Standard sizes include 8, 10, 12 and 14 feet, with plans for a 16 foot option.
Design, construction and plasma cutting all happens in-house and the first model has been sold to a Bathurst, NSW customer.
“The customer wanted a machine that he could grade his tracks and then extend to be able to do some grading of his paddock,” said Farmor Manager, Kent McNeil.
“With the 8-foot width, he can transport it behind his ute, or grade his track. Then, after a short time in the shed, he has the width he needs to grade his paddock.”
