Known variously as County Fairs, or State Fairs, Agricultural Shows have been a rural tradition world-wide since the first one was held in England by the Salford Agricultural Society in Lancashire in 1768. Agricultural Shows have been happening in Australia since the nineteenth Century, and around 580 (around 185 in NSW) occur every year, bringing fun, education and entertainment to urban and rural communities. This year 2024 will be the 86th  Comboyne Show, with the first one having been held in 1933.

There is a hidden gem of South Gippsland, located at the gateway to Wilson’s Prom. An event that is in its 116th year, it is not one to be missed. Featuring competitions, activities, animals galore, and many friendly faces, the Foster & District Agricultural Show is an event for people of all ages and demographics.

Gates open 5pm Friday Night and 9am Saturday. Gate entry is FREE thanks to generous sponsorship from local and far away businesses who support our show.

The Allora Show Society is happy with the success of the 2024 Show, which produced strong numbers in many sections. President Shirley Cornhill said the show was well supported from far and wide.

Experience the full splendour of the Angaston Show on February 24, 2024, and the thrilling three-day “Horses in Action” event from February 23rd to 25th. This dynamic showcase of agricultural excellence, local talent, and spirited camaraderie is not just an event; it’s a celebration of rural life and regional achievements.

The Exeter show brings together exhibitors and entertainers, as well as visitors from across the State, and offers something for everyone.   The Axeman’s Association hold their annual woodchopping and tree felling events in a special arena in the showgrounds.

A long-standing family tradition is further enhanced at this year’s Allora Show. The Frank Phelan Memorial Trot sponsored by long established Show supporters Neil and Robyn Phelan will have a slight change in format ... Neil did not inherit the love of horses and he and Robyn are now stewards in the Cattle Section.

Again we have a bumper show planned for 2024. On Farm Cattle Challenge  - this is the 2nd year we are running this and we are hoping to continue  to build on the success we had last year with the On Farm Challenge.   From feedback last year we have added some  extra classes for 2024.

Act Belong Commit Darkan Sheepfest reaches out to all young Australians to ignite their passion for sheep and wool as they centre their 2024 show around The Next Generation.

Cobargo A P & H Society Ella Cowgill Cobargo winner in NSW Agshows young woman of the year. She will attend Zone comp at Adelong on 3rd Feb.If she gets selected there she will contest the Major event at Sydney Royal Show.

The 2024 Kiama Show will be held on Friday 26th  and Saturday 27th  January 2024 at Kiama Showground. Prepare to be dazzled by an array of entertainment that caters to all ages. From heart-stopping rides to mesmerizing performances, the Kiama Show has something for everyone.

Lockhart female shearer Nicki Guttler continues to make a name for herself in the male-dominated field of shearing ... Nicki started off shearing in the Open competition as the only female competing and surprised even herself by coming sixteenth out of 35 leaving quite a few seasoned Open shearers in her wake.

The 154th Kingston Agricultural Show will take place on the 9th and 10th December 2023. There’s always plenty to see and do at our annual show. Bring the whole family! Saturday is a family events day. Sunday is focussed on our renowned horse show with over 100 classes.

They would come from Queensland to Tasmania and all parts in between. Some would come ‘just over the hill there’ from a place called Perth. And as anticipated, in they came for the 35th Truck Show held last weekend at the Campbells Creek Sports Ground.

Kristin Murdock. Naracoorte High School’s Agricultural Studies students and staff had a busy show season competing at both the Royal Adelaide Show and Royal Melbourne Show in September ... This year the school entered six steers and two pens of three wethers in the Royal Adelaide Show, with over 20 students attending.
