A fiery fiesta
The second Cohuna Chilli Festival was held on Friday night and organisers say it was a huge success. Held on the public holiday of the AFL grand final weekend, it drew visitors from across the state. Fest a succ-cess
Succulent Fest, hosted at Bunker’s Hill State School, is increasingly becoming a flagship event of the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, this year’s staging attracting over two thousand visitors and raising nearly $12,000. This year marked the sixth staging of the event, organised by group of volunteers under the P&C Association of the school.

Anthony and Christian were thrilled to be awarded Champion, at the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW, Sydney Royal Distilled Spirits Show, for their Wolfe Rock Gin. The RAS of NSW has been judging Australian produce annually for an amazing 202 years! “This was an incredible accolade to receive, really putting Lord Howe Island Distilling Co on the map as a leader in Australian spirits, with our unique endemic botanicals.”
Off to the Show
Percy Leason’s iconic cartoon ‘Off to the Show, or The Man They Left Behind Them’ graces the cover of this year’s Kaniva Show schedule. To coincide with the Wiregrass project, Kaniva and District Progress Association will showcase a small temporary exhibition of several of Leason’s never-before-seen cartoons, highlighting various aspects of agricultural shows.

One of the Wimmera’s favourite events for women in agriculture is returning in October. After a 10-year hiatus, Chicks in the Sticks is back on October 23 at Grampians Park Station, Moyston.
