The 2025 Bendigo Writers Festival is fast approaching with the event taking place from Friday August 15 to Sunday August 17.

This year’s festival celebrates the fusion of gastronomy and storytelling with a packed program featuring Ben Shewry, Helly Raichura, Jennifer Wong, Grace Yee and Thomas Mayo, along with many others from the literary world.

There are over 60 events showcasing more than 80 writers and speakers, which makes this the perfect event for all readers, writers and creative thinkers!

Most sessions are priced at $16, with many free events and select premium sessions.

A winter festival for readers, writers and creative thinkers

Since 2012, the Bendigo Writers Festival has been a vibrant gathering of readers, writers, and creative thinkers. Over one winter weekend each year, the festival brings together diverse voices through panel discussions, keynote talks, workshops, performances, book launches and more — sparking ideas, conversation, and inspiration.

Celebrating the power of storytelling, the festival champions literacy, lifelong learning, and diverse perspectives. A must-attend event for book lovers and curious minds, it welcomes renowned authors and fresh new voices from Bendigo, Victoria, Australia and beyond.
