Stunning photos taken by Allora Photography Group
– Topic: Bokeh

Gale provided a very creative interpretation of the topic of Bokeh. Gale’s ‘’Rose Reflections’’ still life, with the addition of a reflective base and wonderful pointed bokeh made with coloured lights. The flower is not as sharp as it could have been and the photo was awarded a Highly Commended.

Bokeh (a Japanese word) in photography refers to the aesthetic quality of intentional blurring of areas in a photograph to avoid distraction, and focus the viewer’s attention on the main subject.

This was the latest challenge for the Allora Photography Group and our members produced a wide array of images.

Tryg Helander was our judge for this topic and as always, he was encouraging and informative.

His expertise is indeed an asset to our club.

The next meeting of the Group is Thursday 10th July.

Meetings are normally held on a Wednesday but the day clashes with the final State of Origin match.

At this meeting Warren Vievers will present his awards and critique the photos on two topics: “Light Painting” and “Artistry / Creative Techniques” Both topics should yield some interesting images.

If you would like to become a member of the Allora Photography Group and learn a new skill or boost an existing one, the members would love to hear from you – just contact Michael Campbell at alloraphotographygroup@gmail.com.
