Dayboro Show Society

You can’t beat a good old-fashioned country show!

Dayboro – The Town of Yesteryear is set to come alive when town meets country at the best little country show.  The annual Dayboro Show is celebrating 68 years with the 2025 event being held on July 5th and 6th. The show will bring together almost every aspect of rural living from cattle and sheep displays and poultry exhibits; to displays of the regions’ finest home grown produce and a 2-day filled wood-chopping program.

Less than an hour from Brisbane CBD, located in the spectacular Dayboro Valley at the Showgrounds, the Dayboro Show will be a fantastic fun day out.

Dayboro Show Spokesperson, Alison Taylor, said the show provides an exciting and affordable day out for the whole family.

“The entire family can enjoy a fun-filled day with numerous free activities such as the animal nursery, camp oven cooking, puppet show, a farm animal display, reptile and wildlife shows, a circus stunt show, dog jump competition including a mini jump, rock climbing wall and even passports for the kids to tick all activities off their list!” said Alison.

“On top of that we’ve got all the favourites back including horse events and show jumping, poultry show, mini trotters, a sideshow alley with rides and show bags, wood chopping, fireworks, food trucks, a bar and more!” The Show Pavilions will be packed with exhibits of cooking, flowers, photography, needlework, art & craft, honey, jams & pickles & fruit & veg. So much talent on display!

2025 is shaping up to be better than ever, with more than 8000 people expected to attend.  “We are excited to have Lachie Cossor and his Outback Stockmans Show as well as the iconic Trackskill V8 Ute Show joining us this year”.  Also on the program is our first ever Hobby Horse competition and Pineapple Pie eating competition and our popular annual Mullet competition and Pineapple Toss.

The first show was held in 1956 as a way of raising funds to pay for the showgrounds land. It was a huge success with more than 1000 people attending the one-day event. The membership fee was one guinea ($2.10), and admission was 25 cents.

“This show is an important part of our community, and we welcome everyone to come and join us in the fun and fresh air here in our beautiful town,” said Alison.
