With a last puff from a machine exhaust the 2025 and 30th Allora Heritage Weekend chuffed out late Sunday afternoon after the final Grand Parade signalling the end of another amazingly successful event highlighting history from a past era and the Australia Day weekend on the Southern Downs.
Locals will have heard the chug of a lone tractor motor echoing through suburban Allora on Thursday afternoon late that signalled the commencement of a stream of machinery and vehicles from across Queensland & New South Wales that eventually filled the picturesque Allora Showgrounds, planting the seeds for what Heritage Weekend Committee President Graeme McMillan rated as another highly successful event.
At the mercy of the weather, that hasn’t been favourable at times in the event’s history, “the past weekend was perfect weather wise, ideal conditions for the crowds that attended which included an estimated 3,500 on Saturday alone.”

The Weekend attendance compared more than favourably with past events, with people travelling from far flung centres but especially the Darling Downs and South East Queensland.
The Allora Heritage Weekend committee are now looking to next year’s event, stepping off into the fourth decade as hosts of one of Queensland’s leading historic rallies.
The organising committee is small but certainly effective, but they are more than happy to welcome some new faces to assist in assuring the future of an event that puts Allora firmly on the history and tourism map.
