On the 11th of October, members of the Rimfire discipline in conjunction with Clifton State High School hosted an interschool shoot. The event saw 60 students from 9 different schools across both the Southern and Darling Downs competing for bragging rights.
Participants in the event used the club rifles and shot two 25 shot targets to get a combined score for both team and individual placing for the day. Toowoomba Anglican School claimed both first and second in the team events with a combined Warwick schools team placing third in the individual events. Local high school student Beau T was the overall shooter of the day with the highest score of the day closely followed by Nathanial K from Oakey in second place and our own junior club member Rebekah R came in in third place, only 4 points behind Beau.
Impressively, there was only 11 points between the top 10 shooters. Event organisers: Chris, Brendan and Ashleigh would like to take the opportunity to thank our wonderful volunteers for aiding in the success on the day and additionally thank you to all our sponsors who generously donated around 10 thousand dollars’ worth of sponsorship towards the successful event.
