The Nathalia Agricultural Society is thrilled to announce its 128th Annual Show is just around the corner on Saturday 5th October 2024, and there are some BIG plans for this year. Nathalia Show has been selected as a host destination for the 2024 Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour, with the magnificent gold cup and a group of Cup royalty coming along for the day. The Living Legends retired racehorses are also joining the Show for a real life meet and greet with some VERY special horses. Cup dignitaries will give a talk and judge the Nathalia Fashions on the Fields as well as the comeback of the Mr Nathalia mullets & facial hair. Fear not, hairless men! There will be a prize for classy gents in their race-day apparel as well.
On the competition side, Nathalia Show boasts a full horse program with 6 rings; including 2 open show rings, harness, pony club/fun ring, Racing Victoria’s Off the Track classes, DEVA and some special supreme champion classes & prizes. The All Breeds Dairy Cattle show is back with some great prizes and even plenty of classes for the young cattle buffs to get involved. Mr Brent Mitchell from Mitch Holsteins is judging on the day. The homecrafts pavilion is brimming with classes for all ages and interests- from cooking to garden produce, woodwork to flowers, LEGO to school displays, and lots of special classes for the Melbourne Cup theme. Other competitions on the day include Pet Parade, motorbike competition and prime lambs.
Entertainment wise, the day will be full including plenty of free entertainment for the kids (and the big kids). Highlights include the LevelUP Gaming team who are travelling all the way from Horsham to unite people with a love a gaming with their virtual reality experience. Black Snake is bringing their fabulous snake and wildlife pit. Dookie Lions Club is bringing the mini train, and there will be facepainting for the kids. Giant sumo suits and giant soccer. Animal Nursery will be located in the cattle pavilion, and there will be static displays of vintage Harry Ferguson tractors, trucks and other historic vehicles, and even some ploughing displays across the day.
And of course a chance to hold the Melbourne Cup! And that’s just the free things! There will also be many traders coming along including market and community group stalls, lots of food and drink choices, show bags, jumping castle and so much more. At just $15 for adults, $5 for kids and preschoolers free, the Nathalia Show is an affordable day out for the whole family.
