A highly acclaimed dinner theatre production that is sparking conversation about mental health and wellbeing is returning to Loxton.

After last year’s success, ‘Kick off ya Boots’ makes a comeback in 2024 for a new glimpse of the Connor family’s farming journey, with the show organised by Little Town Productions.

Held in the Loxton Lutheran Peace Hall, five shows will take place over two weekends, with three of the presentations already sold out.

The new show takes place two years after the last, with songs from the 1980s and classic humour.

The main story gives inside information about farming and country life, dealing with weather, finances, and succession, family conversations and more with celebrations and even a little unexpected romance.

“One of the main messages of this year is how important it is to communicate and talk to each other, especially your loved ones, and that it is okay to not be okay, and there is help out there,” said Leanne Kaesler, Little Town Productions event co-ordinator.

“This is an incredible production that I feel very blessed to be a part of and you don’t want to miss out, we guarantee you won’t be disappointed,” Ms Kaesler said.

“The idea is for audiences to laugh a lot, possibly cry too, and also want to sing and dance, but especially to be touched by the special wellbeing messages throughout the whole show.

“We hope to encourage and inspire everyone to think about your own life, and help to put these tips into practice.

“Five cast members and seven chorus members are the talents behind the presentation, plus all the production team and our sponsors.”

Hosted by Clinton Schubert as the main chef for the evening, the dinner that will be served during the theatre production will be a three-course meal, prepared by talented group of kitchen volunteers and served by a group of high school volunteers.

“Rehearsals are going very well, with a big final week of preparations before our first show on Friday night,” Ms Kaesler said.

“Monday and Tuesday were a big couple of days doing sound and lighting equipment setup, plus organising the amazing guests we are expecting, which include members from councils, MPs and the mental health commissioner.”

Tickets are available through the website (www.littletown.com.au) or at the Loxton Lutheran Ministry Centre and It Feels Like Home on East Terrace, Loxton.
