Corryong departed the finals race at the hands of Tumbarumba in the 1st semi final on Saturday. The Roos were ruthless from the first bounce kicking six goals but to the Demons’ credit they showed spirit in the second quarter to match it with their more fancied opponents.
The Roos got back on track in the third stanza to extend the margin to ten goals at the last break but could not blow it out any further as both sides ran out of petrol tickets in the run home.
In A Grade netball, Tumbarumba advanced to the preliminary final with a thrilling eight goal victory over Corryong in overtime.
This week Cudgewa hosts Bullioh in both senior football and netball in the 2nd semi final.
The league will host its vote count and awards presentation on Saturday night.
