That’s Allora’s Matthew Denny who is currently in Paris for the Olympic Games.

In 2015 Matthew made his Senior Debut with the Australia Team for the World University Games.

Since then Matthew has been improving with each national competition and breaking records along the way.

2021 Matthew was placed fourth in his second Olympics in Tokyo.

2022 won at the Commonwealth Games and went on to the world championships where he was placed sixth with a throw of 67 metres.

2023 was a highlight when Matthew won the Diamond League final with a national record throw of 68.43 metres.

2024 Matthew went one better at Nationals with a national record throw of 69.35 metres.

He continued the momentum finishing second at four Diamond Leagues during May and June in Doha, Marrakech, Oslo and Stockholm.

Matthew is primed and ready for the Olympics in Paris – aiming for 70 metres and to bring home the Gold.

Allora will be cheering on Matthew when he takes to the world stage on August 5 for the Men’s Discus Throw Qualifications and then August 7 for the Men’s Discus Throw Final.
