Stage one of the Corryong Wetlands project is getting closer to finalisation as local contractor Greg Hillier puts the finishing touches on the two creek crossings.
“We are really happy with the survival rate of our tree and shrub plantings and working in with Corryong College who have had eight official visits to the wetlands in the last two years,” said co-president, John Murphy.
Co-president, Matthew Spurgeon, added “It’s great that we have been able to add to the recovery of the town in a strategic way.
“Being part of the greater Corryong Recreation Reserve development, we work hand in hand with the Man From Snowy River Bush Festival to ensure that every tree we plant fits into their cross country track.
“Increasing the usage of the western end of the reserve gives Towong Council much need flexibility and a head start for future walking tracks in the precinct.
“We also give many thanks to Border Trust and Corryong Rotary for their support of the project,” John added.
