On the back of holding a record-breaking event in 2023, on Saturday 16 March the community of Bream Creek are set to put on one of the great signature events of the region!

With over 70 attractions, performances and exhibits, plus over 40 food and drink stalls including local produce, cheese, wine, spirits and more, The Bream Creek Show volunteer committee has worked hard to create what promises to be a truly wonderful day out. “This year we’re excited to debut a new attraction that’s uniquely Bream Creek, and we’ve never seen it done anywhere else,” said Head of Attractions Henry James. “Each hour, two people will be picked from the crowd. They’ll then proceed to play a game of noughts and crosses, but instead of it being on a board, they’ll be instructing an industrial excavator to move giant, painted boulders!” Also on the program are crowd favorites like the ride-on lawn mower race, the Tree Felling State Championships, paddock to plate food demonstrations, the kids’ animal nursery, the ever-impressive bullock team, and of course all patrons will be encouraged to try their arm at winning a new pair of boots with toss the ‘blunnie’.

In recent years the committee have seen an increased interest in the Hall of Industries program, with many young people getting involved and vying to win in one of the wide range of categories. Entries are now open in programs such as knitting & crocheting, creative arts & craft, photography, fruit, nuts & eggs, home industries and more.

“Being rural, sometimes our phone reception can be patchy,’ Henry James said. ‘This year we’re encouraging all patrons to bring cash, so they’re prepared for a great day out no matter what.” “Last year was the biggest show we’ve ever had, and likely will ever have. Naturally that brought some stresses to our infrastructure so over recent months we’ve put a lot of work into updating our technology.”
