Toowoomba hosting QCWA art expo

The QCWA State Exhibition of Creative & Practical Arts (Expo) is taking place on Saturday and Sunday, 28 and 29 October at St Saviour’s Hall in Toowoomba.

The Exhibition is free to enter and open to the public from 9am to 4pm on both days with catering by QCWA members and a coffee van.

St Saviour’s Hall is on the corner of Neil and Perth streets, South Toowoomba.

A QCWA spokesperson said the Expo will showcase the talents and versatility of QCWA members and friends and will also present to the public a diverse range of local artisans.

“(It’s) a great opportunity to start your Christmas shopping, try a new craft and support our community,” they said.

Local artisans include The Sewing Room, Toowoomba Spinners Weavers & Dyers, Porcelain Memories by Katie, Amanda’s Touch of Vintage / Rainbow Dreams, Redfox Laser Cut & Engraving, Panda Pearls and Days for Girls.

From the QCWA, there will be the State Cookery, Handcraft, Floral Art, Dress Making & Sewing, Knitting & Crochet, International, Patchwork , Ag & Environment, Centenary and Country Kitchens displays and goods, demonstrations and workshops.

Demonstrations and workshops will run over the two days.

Key workshops will be run by Tinker Art – Toowoomba – Alex Stalling, Beading by Freda Garrett and the Biscuit Decorating by Heather Drake.
