With Spring in the air, the Naracoorte Art Gallery is supporting the local show this year with a targeted floral art workshop.
Two designs from the Show catalogue will feature in an afternoon session with former florist, Lisa Caon on Saturday October 7.
Participants will learn how to create a centrepiece arrangement for a table and a design using foliage only. Both are in the Open Section for Floral Art in the 2023 catalogue.
It is hoped that budding floral artists will gain the skills to put an entry in these categories at the show on October 14.
Lisa Caon worked as a florist for ten years and has plenty of skills and ideas to pass on to those attending. Her assistant will be fellow Art Gallery Board member, Adair Dunsford who prior to living in Naracoorte was a member of the Keith Floral Art club for 15 years.
Participants need to bring a bucket of fresh flowers and foliage, two vases or containers and a pair of secateurs or kitchen scissors. The Art Gallery will supply floral foam and accessories.
Numbers are limited and to register you need to contact the Art Gallery on 87623390 or email – naracoortegallery@gmail.com. The cost is $30 and a place is guaranteed on payment.
