Recent stories

Nhill and District Sporting Club hosted a successful Preliminary Final on Sunday, with record numbers through the gates.

The crowds at Davis Park on Sunday for the preliminary final were confirmed by the League to be the biggest finals crowd in 2 years bar last year’s Wimmera League Grand Final.

President of Nhill and District Sporting Club Rob Bell said, “We held the biggest crowd in the finals this year, thank you to all our hard-working volunteers that keep the food up to a huge crowd. Thank you so much to our Luv a Duck and Terry Robins for the use of their BBQ trailer. A big thank you to all our members and players and committee for putting on a fantastic final for the Wimmera League.’

Rob also commended and wanted to thank Gary Hall from Western Ag for the use of their truck for commentators and the Hindmarsh Shire for their assistance cleaning up around the surrounds of the oval.

Lachlan Keller owner of Nhill’s caravan “Laugh out Loud”, said, ” We were flat out all day at the finals series, and hope everyone enjoyed their coffees.”

A big thank you to Ash Dickinson and Brady Alexander, who have kept the grounds of Davis Park looking fantastic; it’s a credit to them just looking at the ground.

Nhill and District Sporting Club thank all those who helped with the 2023 season and successful final hosted, and look forward to the 2024 season, Go Tigers.
