Rural health van

This year the MHERV van will be at the Show. The MHERV van is a Men’s Health and Education Rural Van. It is a rural project made possible by fundraising and sponsorship and time given by Rotary Volunteers. It is a custom-made van with a dedicated Registered Nurse that travels NSW offering free health screenings to regional and rural men. The health check takes only 10 minutes. Statics show that 41,000 men die of preventable diseases every year. 10,237 men have been tested since the project started in 2017. 5,871 of these men were found to be in need of treatment and 436 of them were in immediate danger of heart attack or stroke. The Gulgong Show Society are excited to be working with MHERV to give our community the opportunity to utilise this valuable service.

Another unique experience at this year’s Show will be the Sand Sculpture workshops and display by Sand in Your Eyes.
