With almost 16,000 smiles breaking attendance records for the third year in a row, and a 97% happiness rate for attendees, the award-winning LiveLighter Canning Show is now firmly one of Perth’s premier annual community events.

2022’s LiveLighter Canning Show will again fill its home of Cannington Exhibition Centre & Showgrounds with fun for all ages, taking place over three sessions on Friday 4 & Saturday 5 November.

Expect the best value, inspiring and fun-packed weekend to excite all ages, including Fireworks both nights, Sideshow Wonderland rides, carnival games, the Stay & Play Zone, showbags, animals, Food World, music, face painting, performers, unique collaborations with partner City of Canning, and much, much more. Plus, this year a range of activities and entertainment will be Aquatic-themed, celebrating the ‘International Year of Artisanal Fisheries and Aquaculture’. As usual, much of it will come FREE included in budget-friendly tickets!

Before we announce more and best-priced tickets go on sale for earlybirds, we are pleased to reveal the first brushstrokes of the Show’s colourful, fun-packed picture.

Exhibition opens online – Win $13K plus more!

Providing a creative wonderland with community heart, the LiveLighter Canning Show is excited to launch one of WA’s biggest, longest-running community-showcasing exhibitions. With online entries, anyone can have a go at igniting their creativity, practising new skills, or showcasing their talents, whilst potentially being rewarded in $13,000+ in cash prizes on offer, as well as awards, sashes, exclusive free invites to the Exhibition Awards gala dinner, and more.

Whilst you can still enter with printed forms and a full-colour schedule available from our office soon, we encourage both regular and brand-new Exhibition entrants to use the fully automated ShowDay platform that makes it easy to enter, pay, receive reminders, and track your Show entries and results online. Plus, you can add other people’s entries at the same time you do yours – the perfect enticer for some healthy family fun or friends-ly competition. Whether you’re 2 years old or 100, experienced or trying something for the first time, it’s time to get creative, get growing, get making, and have a go!

Key Exhibition Features:

  • One of the largest annual exhibitions in WA showcasing a wide array of arts, crafts, hobbies, creations and produce, igniting communities’ creative spark.
  • Online entries making it simple for anyone to enter (printed forms and Schedules also available).
  • Open to everyone, from talented amateurs to awarded artisans, the competition celebrates, promotes, rewards, and encourages diverse passions and talents, plus inspires others in the community.
  • Over $13,000 in cash prizes rewarded to the best exhibits, plus trophies, sashes, and other awards.
  • Exhibition Champions receive a complimentary free invite to an exclusive, gala dinner awards event on Saturday 19 November.
  • Entries only $1 (Youth) / $2 (Adults).
  • Over 650 Classes to enter, covering Youth; Fruit & Vegetables; Flowers; Home & Dairy Produce; Honey; Home Cooking; Sewing, Knitting, Crochet, Toys & Dolls; Handicrafts; Hobby Ceramics; Painting & Drawing; Photography; and Industrial Arts.

We are constantly searching for the best offerings to enhance the LiveLighter Canning Show experience. Applications are now open for a range of people, organisations and businesses looking to take advantage of the opportunities available, or to be a part of the fun as a volunteer. We are currently looking for more:

  • Food Trucks
  • Commercial and Community Stalls
  • Performers / Demonstrators
  • Volunteers

Last year’s celebrations attracted 16,000 people, so don’t miss out on these opportunities and be sure to apply by Sunday 31 July to be considered.

Canning Agricultural, Horticultural & Recreational Society (aka CAHRS) is a not-for-profit organisation committed to:

  • promoting the development of agricultural, pastoral, horticultural, viticulture and industrial resources of WA.
  • provide platforms, activities, and events that encourage participation in agricultural and horticultural interests, cultural and artistic pursuits, sport and recreational pastimes, which enrich the community through the use of the resources of the Society.
