What a great fete!

Recent stories

Vale View State School was the place to be last Saturday, its fete a huge success with a crowd numbering in the hundreds turning up to support a small local school.

Mrs Amanda Ruhle, the P&C President, welcomed the attendees, followed by Cr Melissa Taylor officially opening the Fete.

Crowds were kept entertained by the student performances, MC and singer Victoria Q, Garbage to Garments Fashion Parade and performances by Tornados All Stars, JE Dancehouse, Radiance Academy Toowoomba and Pinkies on Ice.

If that wasn’t enough, there was plenty to do at the Inflatable Activities – Putt Putt Golf, Bungee Run, Whack-a-Mole and Chip Shot Golf, just to name a few.

Children and adults were treated to face painting, billy cart racing, a speed throwing competition and a visit from the police, firies and ambulance.

Constable Clancy, the Police Koala made a special appearance on the day too.

The stalls were amazing – from the school-run stalls to the absolute professionals, there was something for everyone.

Who could forget about the food? The Lions Club did an amazing job with the barbecue and Graham and his team in the USQ FC Food Van had the crowds gathered with their hot chips, chicken chips and Dagwood dogs.

The Multi-Draw Raffle was drawn at 2.30pm, with the two $500 fuel vouchers going to two very excited winners!

A spokesperson said Vale View State School would like to thank all the stall holders who donated to the raffle and the business houses who donated items for the raffle.

“A special thank you must go to all of the stall holders for supporting our inaugural fete, the parents who donated items for the cake stall, bottle stall and plant stall, the volunteers who helped set up for the fete, supervised with activities or worked on the school run stalls, the staff of View State School who gave up their time to organise and run the school stalls and also assisted in set up and pack up, Dannielle Hall who was our Facebook advertiser, Graham and Maria Bidgood, Amanda Ruhle and Ina Kotze for the countless hours of time given to the fete in preparation for such a successful day.

“Thanks, must also go to our sponsors – Excel Power, Queensland Groundwater Solutions, Oakleigh Earthmoving, Neil Ault from NWMG, Myles Cosgrove of Ray White Rural Toowoomba. Their generosity was truly appreciated.”
