Warm your boules by the fire
It makes them go higher

Geoff McLennan, Tarrangower Times

Winter is definitely with us; all month it has been extremely cold, and last Sunday was no exception. Luckily the fire was lit early and was well utilised all afternoon to keep both players and boules warm.

We welcomed Andrew from Smythesdale and Johnno from Melbourne, who joined us for our games. It was also pleasing to see two families of members, including children and dogs, around the pistes. They also enjoyed the fire.

After three rounds of play, it was announced that Steve Phillis was the overall winner with 3 wins 17 points, very closely followed by Viv Markham, only 1 point behind 3 wins 16 points, coming in third place with 3 wins 13 points was Bev Forsyth.

On Saturday, 18 June two teams of five players will venture to Ballarat (hopefully, they will have a fire) to compete in Round 1 of the four club round robin for the Golden Boule. Games start at 10am so we will need to rug up.

Our fortnightly games continue on Sunday 26 June at the St Brigid’s pistes commencing 1.30pm; these will be the last for the financial year.
