Growing Abundance is back!

Recent stories

Growing Abundance helps minimise food waste in our community by organising volunteers to help pick the fruit that isn’t able to be harvested by the owners.

We are doing a call out for anyone who has excess fruit on their trees that they are willing and wishing to get help harvesting and distributing. After the harvest, one-third of the fruit will be given to the owners of the fruit trees, one-third will go to the volunteers, and the other third will be donated to community organisations to be distributed amongst those who need and want it!

This is a great way to get help managing your trees, as well as helping to combat the spread of fruit fly in our region by cleaning up the fruit or harvesting fruit that would otherwise go rotten on the tree.

We are also doing a call out to anyone who may wish to get involved as a volunteer with Growing Abundance on our upcoming harvests. It is a great way to get outside, get active, make connections within our community, as well as take home a bundle of fruit at the end of the day!

If you have trees that need harvesting now or in the future or are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact us at hello@growing-abundance.org.au and be sure to tell us your contact details and your point of interest.
