From the President

Welcome to the 2021 Texas Show!

What a couple of years the district has had!  Drought, Covid and now a flood.

Despite all of this and a year of absence last year the Texas Show is back, hopefully bigger and brighter than previous years which mirrors the resilience and optimism of our wonderful community.

It is awesome to see so much green grass and moisture in the ground which all goes well for the coming season.

This year the Show will be opened at 12.00pm by James Blundell, a prominent musician and song writer who grew up in the Stanthorpe/ Texas area. Hoping he might even sing a song for us!

The show competition will begin on Saturday morning with all the scheduled events including the pavilion sections, judging of all horse events in the main arena along with show jumping and dressage events.

Entertainment this year can be enjoyed by the whole family. Monster trucks on both days, rock wall climbing, fireworks, side show alley, mutton buster on Sunday and the rodeo starting at 2.30pm Saturday afternoon. Not to mention our band this year “Golden Creek “starting after the fire works on Saturday night.

Great to have the camp draft back this year which really helps underpin the show. Thank you to Allan and Dani Colley for their organisation and all the people that have donated cattle.

Thank you again to our hard-working committee for your efforts to make the show happen.

Enjoy!

Bring everyone to the 2021 Texas Show. Texas Showgrounds, Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 of July.
