The Tweed JUNKtion tip shop regular has been able to turn his passion for restoring discarded equipment into a lucrative business.

With a keen sense of what can be repaired, Adam visits the JUNKtion more than once a week looking for mowers, chainsaws and whipper snippers.

“I enjoy coming to the tip shop because it’s close to home and the staff are very good as they know what type of equipment I’m after,” Adam said.

“I mainly look for brand name products which I refurbish and then sell.

“They are a friendly group of people and I like being able to come through and see what’s available – it’s always a challenge.”

Whether someone is a bargain hunter or passionate about turning trash into a treasured item, Tweed JUNKtion tip shop at Stotts Creek Resource Recovery Centre is definitely worth visiting.

It’s also a chance to be part of growing the circular economy – keeping products and materials in use for as long as possible – as well as helping the environment by reducing the volume of waste sent to landfill.

Tweed JUNKtion is currently trialling extended trading days and is open from Tuesday to Friday 8:30 am to 3 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm. It is closed public holidays.

Tweed Shire Council’s Facebook page will feature a new weekly post with some of the top bargains available at Tweed JUNKtion tip shop.
