It was a moment of mayham that had people looking on in disbelief – a pig waltzing down King George Street, Cohuna. Well, it wasn’t quite that glamourous, but it was definitely a pig.

A pig that had been travelling in an open trailer, fell out at the roundabout when the tailgate came loose on its approach to town and opened on Friday, June 25.

The driver of the vehicle, who had entered town from the Echuca end, turned into Market Street unaware his load had lightened.

The pig was equally stunned when it found itself no longer in the trailer but free to roam the streets of Cohuna and attracting quite a crowd.

“We’ll have him bacon the trailer in no time,” was heard as four men tried their best to coerce the stubborn 200kg pig back to its chariot which awaited in Park Lane. Before long he was safely on his way, leaving onlookers with an unbelievable story to tell.
