It is wonderful to be back on deck in 2021 with our spectacular Autumn Show at the Maclean Bowls Club. There were 21 exhibitors and a variety of 214 beautiful exhibits. Our thanks to our many appreciated sponsors and supporters, locally in the Clarence region.

The champion Cattleya was also the Grand Champion, Rth. Mem. Issac Wilson x Rlc. Shin Shiang Diamond, won by Woolgoolga’s Jack Anderson.
The champion Miscellaneous was also the Reserve Champion won by Terry & Penny Bird.
Culture Award went to Neil & Carol Campbell for their Aerides thibautiana, and they also won champion Dendrobium D. Topaz Dream ‘Sweet’; Vandaceous V. Sharon Louise ‘Madam’, plus Species, Aerides lawrencea.
Specimen Award went to Brian Donaghy’s Gomesa radicans, and his unknown Oncidium Alliance winner.
Garden Champion, Albert Irons’ Tassle Fern, also won the Foliage section.
Albert presented, as well, the Sally Irons’ Encouragement Trophy to contributing member Narelle Francis, for 2021. Narelle’s orange beauty Rose to the occasion as Champion Cut Flower.

Next meeting is on Saturday May 15 at the Presbyterian Church Hall, Church Street, Maclean. Due to restrictions being eased, there is no need for members to pre-register. Plants are benched by 1pm for the judging, then at 1.30pm the meeting begins. Lucky door and raffle prizes are included, plus afternoon tea.
