As anyone knows who has been involved in running Community Events the commitment to put on these Events is huge, Bellingen is lucky that they have a hard working dedicated committee that have worked tirelessly  this year to stage a show.

We were very lucky not to be effect too badly by the recent wet weather which has resulted in some of the other shows in the area having to reschedule to later in the year.

All the usual attractions will be on, a full two day Horse events, Beef and Dairy Cattle, Poultry Club Show, Mongrel Dogs and the Woodchop.

Our wonderful Showies who have had such a tough year will be here, keen to entertain young and old. There will also be a climbing wall.

The committee have worked hard to gain funding to enable free entertainment for the children in the form of the Sydney Puppet Theatre, face painting, children’s passport and the petting zoo.

The Pavilion will once again showcase the skills of our many cooks, sewers, quilters and gardeners. This year a wonderful prize for the most successful exhibitor in the Pavilion, sponsored by Home Instead.  $300 worth of goods from the Bellingen Kitchen Shop and $200 cash. So be in with a chance, get those entries rolling in.

We have a wonderful Cooking Demonstration with Clayton Donovan being our celebrity Chef. He will be doing two cooking demonstrations on Saturday and one on Sunday. As well our own Mitch Grady will be doing cooking demonstrations, one for children, one on fermenting and one called Beef, Nose to Tail featuring a local beef producer.

Give yourself a chance to sit down to lunch with Clayton on Sunday. Tickets $5 on sale Saturday to go into the draw for 10 lucky people to attend the Chef’s Table. Clayton will cook for you and then join you to enjoy his wonderful fare. Winning tickets will be drawn on Saturday 4pm at the Entertainment Tent, you must be there to win.

Putting on these events relies on our wonderful volunteers. We are still looking for many spots to be filled, anyone who would like to give a few hours, gain a free pass to the Show for the day, go to www.bellingenshow.com.au  , click on volunteers, click on signUp and you can put your name down for a job of your choosing.

While you are on our website  check out our very reasonably priced admission prices, they are cheaper to buy online, quick and easy access at the gate with scannable tickets.

Rural and regional Australia rely very heavily on their communities to put on these events, being part of your community can be rewarding, meet new and old friends and enjoy the fun of the day. The Australian Show Society tells us that there are more volunteers helping out with Agricultural Shows in Australia than any other organisation.
