Anger at Allora fuel depot

Recent stories

Police were called to the Allora headquarters of Bartranz Petroleum last week after a man allegedly lashed out at staff.

Bartranz owners Justin and Gretta Barton described it as “A Tough Day for Our Team”.

The serious incident at the office occurred on Wednesday.

A man allegedly entered the workplace and became aggressive over a fuel pricing dispute.

The Bartons said staff were yelled at and the individual began pushing and shoving members of management.

He refused to leave and police had to be called.

Sgt Damian Grace of Allora Police said a 53-years-old Sandy Creek man has since been dealt with under the Summary Offences Act for the offence of causing a public nuisance.

Justin and Gretta Barton said the incident highlights just how much pressure their team has been under behind the scenes during this fuel crisis.

“They have been answering countless calls, explaining the situation again and again, and doing everything they can to help customers through an incredibly uncertain time,” they said.

“The vast majority of our customers have been patient and understanding, and we are very grateful for that.

“But what our staff are dealing with day-to-day right now is something most people don’t see.”

The Bartons said that day was a real low point but they and their team have started afresh.
