A Community Recognition Statement was read out in parliament for Jill Chapman when Member for Murray, Helen Dalton took the floor during a recent sitting.

Mrs Dalton recognised Mrs Chapman’s devotion and dedication to the agricultural show movement with the following statement:

“Jill Chapman’s history with the agricultural show movement started with Hay Show Society. She devoted much energy to the success of the show, especially during her years as President. Jill is the sort of person who gets involved at all levels, and in her community.

Roles have been many and varied. Jill became involved with the South Western Group of Shows Association Group 9 as Hay Show’s delegate. She fully immersed herself in the Group 9 World of Shows, all 21 of them. Jill was elected to the position of Group 9 President in 2016.

In 2018 she was elected Group 9 delegate to the Agricultural Societies Council, only the second woman to do so in the organisation’s history until she became the President of Ag Show New South Wales in 2023.

In 2025, Jill was awarded Life Membership of Group 9 in recognition of her exceptional leadership, devotion, passion and dedication to advancing the agriculture show movement.
