Baden Scholefield is the author of several fine books and short stories. His style of writing has attracted a close following of fans.
His poetry has been published on several well-known poetry websites.
His short story, “Progress”, made the shortlist and was published in the well-known publication, “The Outback”.
His book, “Cockatoo Creek”, a hefty 610 pages of historical fiction set during the 1930s on a huge cattle station the the northwest of Western Australia, rated five stars on several sites and has attracted glowing reviews from across the world.
The author, having spent many years of his life working in remote areas of Australia in places like the Kimberley, Arnhem Land, and the islands to the north, has drawn on those experiences to write his fascinating stories.
This latest work, “The Flame Trees”, is set in the remote coastal town of Broome during the heyday of pearling.
A tale of forbidden love and the lure of fabulous pearls.
