Several of the Wilcannia women have been training 3 nights a week with Rugby League. Last Friday night, some of these women of Wilcannia joined the Ivanhoe Hens to play their first Rugby League game in Rankin Springs. (5hrs away)
Bapala Adams, Jane Bates, Elizabeth Hunter, Katelyn Whyman, Nerida Whyman, Naydine Whyman, Rita Hunter and Katrina ‘Dobba’ Hunter all were impressive in defence with tackling and of course in offence with tackle-bust, skilful passing and scoring tries (Katelyn and Bapala).
Both coaches, Brendon Adams and Horse Whyman were very proud of the women’s effort, dedication and commitment.
The Coaches want to say thanks to the Wilcannia Cafe, for supplying drinks and food. REDIe for the Transport. Maari Ma for the Training Equipment.
The next game is in May in Ivanhoe.
The girls have one message…
