Bailey Harm claimed gold and the Qld School Sport Champion title for the 17-19 years 50m and 100m Freestyle events at the recent Qld Schools Championships in Brisbane. Bailey swam a 50m Free pb of 23.35, falling 0.02 outside of the Qld Record. Bailey clocked a 52.26 in the 100m Freestyle heats, going on to win the final. Bailey earned his selection to the Qld School Swimming Team which will compete at the School Sport Australia Championships in Brisbane in July.
This is the last Qld Schools event for Bailey who is completing Year 12 and is the Scot’s PGC College Vice Captain. Bailey was also elected to Captain the Darling Downs Swim Team at the 2025 State Championships.
Bailey completes his school swimming years with an outstanding 101 pool records still in his name, from events at Allora State, Central Downs, Southern Downs, Border District, Warwick All Schools and Darling Downs school based meets.
Bailey was the recipient of the 2025 Southern Downs Australia Day Junior Citizen Sports Award as well as the Southern Downs Sports Star of the Year.
Bailey will complete his season competing at the Swimming Australia National Age Championships in Brisbane starting this weekend. He has been selected to swim for Qld in the State versus State Relays, anchoring the mixed medley and swimming the Boys 16-18 years Freestyle Relay. Bailey will also compete in the 50 Freestyle, 50 Breaststroke and 100 Freestyle at this premier event of the swim season. The championships are televised on 9Now.
