Towong Shire Council and community members came together to celebrate the official opening of the Corryong Skatepark on Saturday.

The event saw a tremendous turnout from residents and skatepark users with families, young skaters and community members enjoying the day.

Al Skate Co hosted engaging workshops and tutorials, giving participants a chance to learn new skills.

Towong Shire mayor, Cr Andrew Whitehead, led the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, acknowledging the contributions of everyone involved in bringing the skatepark to life.

“This skatepark represents what we can achieve as a community,” he said.

“I extend a sincere appreciation to our community groups who have been a vital part of this project and the contractors and staff involved.

“The park plays a role in providing a vibrant space where young people and families can connect, socialise and have fun, while also strengthening community ties and promoting an active lifestyle.”
