Dayboro – The Town of Yesteryear is set to come alive when town meets country at the best little country show. The annual Dayboro Show is celebrating 67 years with the 2024 event being held on July 6th and 7th. The show will bring together almost every aspect of rural living from cattle displays, sheep herding and poultry exhibits; to displays of the regions’ historic machinery and a 2-day filled wood-chopping program.
Less than an hour from Brisbane CBD, located in the spectacular Dayboro Valley at the Showgrounds, the Dayboro Show will be a fantastic fun day out.
Dayboro Show Spokesperson, Alison Taylor, said the show provides an exciting and affordable day out for the whole family.
“The entire family can enjoy a fun-filled day with numerous free kids’ activities such as the animal nursery, camp oven cooking, puppet shows, face-painting, a farm animal display, ute competition, mullet competition, reptile and wildlife shows, a circus stunt show, breakdancing show, dog jump competition and even free passports for the kids to tick all activities off their list!” said Alison.
“On top of that we’ve got all the favourites back including horse events and show jumping, poultry show, mini trotters, a sideshow alley with rides and show bags, wood chopping, sheep dog trial demos, fireworks, food trucks, a bar and more!” The Show Pavilions will be packed with exhibits of cooking, flowers, photography, needlework, art and craft, honey, jams and pickles and fruit and veg. So much talent on display!
2024 is shaping up to be better than ever, with more than 5000 people expected to attend. “We are excited to have V8 Trackskill Ute Challenge joining us this year as well as the iconic Toowoomba Outback Riders Team who will perform their much-loved horse entertainment.”
The first show was held in 1956 as a way of raising funds to pay for the showgrounds land. It was a huge success with more than 1000 people attending the one-day event. The membership fee was one guinea ($2.10), and admission was 25 cents.
“This show is an important part of our community, and we welcome everyone to come and join us in the fun and fresh air here in our beautiful town,” said Alison.
