Murrabit Recreation Reserve was the setting for the Golden Rivers round 6 match between Murrabit and the reigning 2023 premiers, Hay.

The Lions dominated the game, but Murrabit showed determination, managing to score two goals in the first quarter. Hay’s defence was strong in the second quarter, preventing the Blues from scoring.

Murrabit’s only score in the third quarter was a behind, while Hay continued to build their lead. In the final term, Murrabit scored a goal and a behind, while Hay maintained their lead.

The game concluded with the Lions celebrating a 137-point victory.

Murrabit’s captain, Benjamin Gillingham, along with Josh Bray and Nathan Henry each scored a goal. Ashton Wood, Tom Copland, Samuel Copland, Nathan O’Toole, Austin Mckerrow and Archer McKnight were the standout performers for the Blues.

Murrabit is heading to Macorna for round 7 to face the Tigers on June 1.
