The Kaniva & District Progress Association is inviting residents to turn their cans into cash to support KDPA community projects.
“This is a great way for residents to contribute to further lighting for our town,” said KDPA Chair Marlene Carter. “Every can counts in our efforts to light up Kaniva and help to support our many initiatives.”
The recycling machine, located conveniently behind the Commercial Hotel in Kaniva, operates from 8 am to 4 pm from Tuesday – Saturday. Residents are asked to download the CDS West Vic app and designate Kaniva as their donation point. By simply scanning the app before recycling, people can ensure that their donations directly contribute to KDPA’s initiatives. Donations can also be dropped off at Marlene’s house, situated at 65 Budjik St. Additionally, residents living in town, can arrange for pick-up by contacting Marlene or Maria.
The group has so far received 34 donations totalling just over $150 mark. “We are immensely grateful for the support we’ve received, especially from Brown’s Carpentry. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference,”
“Kaniva is the ‘Can do’ town, and together, we can make a difference—one can at a time.”
The Kan-i-va Cans appeal represents a shining example of community collaboration and environmental stewardship, highlighting the impact each donation can make towards a brighter, more sustainable future for Kaniva and its residents.
