Member for Mildura, Jade Benham recently had the privilege to visit local schools to deliver Conor Pall’s debut book, “The Shadow that Follows”.
“Conor Pall is an extraordinary young man. I’ve probably never told him this, but I remember the first time I heard about his story on ABC radio, he inspired me,””ˆsaid Ms Benham.
“It was one of the most meaningful days I’ve had in this role yet, it took a bit of planning, but I had the opportunity to spend the day with the brilliant Conor Pall.
“This was an important exercise because this book belongs in every school and if I can help by purchasing a few copies and donating them to school libraries, then it’s the least I can do.
“Getting the opportunity to have Conor chat to these classrooms, captains and leaders about his experiences with overwhelming feelings that he had from what he was going through at home was astounding.
“If just one young person picks that book up and identifies with it, then Conor may have saved a life,” said Ms Benham.
“Thanks to Koorlong Primary, The Lake School, Red Cliffs East Primary, Chaffey College & Mildura Specialist School for accepting the books and for having us.
“If any other schools would like a copy and/or visit from Conor, please contact my office.”
