Review by Festival Australia At Woodford

Woodford was a real success and we delivered three excellent shows that were extremely well received, and our little team got to spend some exciting times seeing other acts and soaking up the alternative universe that is Woodford, reinforcing to us all that if you can dream it, you can create it.

We took our message of solidarity with Palestine to the stage unapologetically and delivered a powerful new song “Only Human” that began with stunning a capella from the whole band.

I can’t wait to record this when I have better health – I have been on strong meds for a benign tumour that I had to take seriously because if I don’t, I may lose my sight.

My hormones are all over the shop from this because it’s on my pituitary gland making me tired a lot. This as well as my sensory overwhelm made camping at Woodford challenging but I am so proud of myself and my team for rising to this challenge and creating some magical moments.

Festival Australia gave us this excellent review: “Socially piercing and justice rich commentary, songs of depth and solidarity with soul enriching resonance encased in velvety vocals and wrapped in a piquant musicality from a band dripping with empathy and strength. Jex Lopez entwined us in a melodic narrative laden with social conscience and truth delivered with passion and emotion which visibly moved an attentive rapt audience.”

Photos by River Mueller and Festival Australia. Big thanks to Tia Mavanie for being a great logistics manager at the festival and River who was awesome to work with along with Myki, Melissa and Vonnie who gave their all on stage for an excellent show with double bass, harmonies, guitar, drums and sax accompanying the piano.

New yummy art prints for sale

I have needed to ‘rest’ since I have been back but of course I can’t stop creating because it’s good for my soul so have been turning my nature photography, collage and canvas art over the past year into some delicious composite photo art. I’m so stoked that it has been selling well!

I don’t know why I’m always surprised that people respond to my work. Guess it keeps me grateful and always pleasantly surprised. See some examples of the best-selling prints on these pages but go to my insta (@jexlopezartist) to see more.

Message me at Jexlopezmusic@gmail.com if you want to order an A3 giclee print. Can do on thick and creamy 300gsm Cotton rag or stretched on canvas too. Price ranges from $140 to $320 plus postage.

The stories and details behind each artwork are on my insta and facebook posts though all of that will eventually be uploaded onto my new website!

Even if you don’t want to buy one let me know which work resonates with you. It all helps me in understanding what I am offering the world.
