If you’re gazing at the evening sky, you may have seen a trail of satellites linked across the night sky. Starlink is a low orbit satellite internet constellation operated by American aerospace company SpaceX. Its plan is to blanket the world with connectivity for both internet and mobile coverage through a planned 12,000-satellite network.
Australians who live remotely have embraced the technology, as did those who like to travel, utilising the portable version. The latest addition was an in-motion plan where users could use the technology on the go.
Later this year, John Deere will begin equipping new and existing machines across the United States and Brazil with Starlink to help connect farmers with high-speed internet so they can fully leverage precision agriculture technologies.
Governmental applications have been in place for some time through Starshield.
